These items are requirements to agree, not a promise that every feature is included in every build. An existing backend can reduce one part of the work while introducing integration constraints elsewhere.

We agree the scope and acceptance criteria, then build and review the key flows in stages. Testing focuses on the supported devices and actual user journeys, including errors and recovery paths. Before release, we work through the account access, configuration and submission responsibilities agreed for the project.

When several systems hold parts of an order, account or workflow, the first question is which one owns each piece of information. A reliable connection depends on those rules.

For mobile app development, the brief should make the core mobile journey, supported platforms and backend dependencies clear. Map the source data, destination and update schedule before designing an interface. Where people need to investigate failures or take action, an operational dashboard may belong in the scope.

Start with the product, then choose the build

An app may make sense when customers need repeated access to a service, account-based workflows or mobile-specific functionality. If the requirement is mainly publishing information and receiving enquiries, a responsive website may be the simpler starting point.

We define the first useful version before committing to a large feature list. That includes the target users, essential journey, supported platforms and any existing systems the app must use.
