For a service business, the essentials are often straightforward: explain the offer, help visitors find the right information and make enquiries easy. I build editable page layouts and content structures around what your team needs to maintain.

WooCommerce stores

An online store needs more than product pages. We scope the catalogue, checkout, payments, shipping and any connections to other systems. Third-party subscriptions, product information and operational responsibilities are agreed before development.

Custom development

Some requirements need an application or integration rather than another website plugin. We assess the workflow, users and data first, then choose an approach that can be maintained after launch.

Improve what exists or plan a rebuild

Before recommending a replacement, I review the current website, editing experience, content and integrations. Targeted improvements may be enough. A rebuild becomes more useful when the existing structure makes essential changes difficult or unreliable.

For a migration, we identify content to retain, URLs that need redirects and systems that must keep working. We also agree who supplies and approves copy, imagery and product information.

From brief to handover

We start with your audience and the actions the website needs to support. The written scope then sets out templates, functionality, responsibilities and milestones. You review the build in stages before launch checks and handover.

The agreed scope can include mobile layouts, accessible page structure, descriptive titles, canonical URLs, sitemap checks and performance work. These foundations support discovery; they do not guarantee search rankings or AI citations.

Budget, timing and ownership

An estimate depends on the templates, design requirements, content readiness, integrations and migration work. Hosting, paid licences, account ownership, editing guidance and any ongoing maintenance are discussed explicitly so the launch does not leave those decisions unresolved.

Start with the decision the project needs to support

The most useful proposal distinguishes the build, its dependencies and the responsibilities after launch. That makes it easier to compare options and understand what the engagement actually includes.

For web development, the brief should make the customer journey, editable content and any migration requirements clear. Share the intended audience, the essential functionality and the systems involved. Also identify whether you mean the suburb or wider Shire when discussing any location-dependent delivery arrangement.

This is a starting point for discussing the work, not a fixed package. The scope and any location-dependent arrangements need to reflect the actual engagement.
